Reader

I downloaded the New York Times Reader, which is an Adobe Air application. This application allows for reading the newspaper on the desktop without a browser. There is a free version and one to subscribe to, allowing the reader to view articles from all sections listed. I used the non-subscribed version of the application this morning and read three articles. The articles appear in newspaper-like columns, different from reading the articles on the web and similar to the printed newspaper. Reading in the application took less time than reading the online article, likely because I made the app screen wider. The articles look like PDFs, and have links like the articles would have on the Times website.
